Special thanks to Gavin @ Aquarium of the Americas for sharing this info/link (below):
So I'm not sure how many of you are privy to public aquarium husbandry manuals, but essentially they are a collection of papers written by public aquarium professionals. The papers are focused around one central topic--the husbandry of a particular group of animals or even a single species. We use these as references for us when we're looking to keep certain species, when we design certain types of exhibits, or whenever we get stuck and need some info.
Anyway, I'm not sure how many of these manuals are public access, but fortunately the coral husbandry manual is. It's broken down into 5 main sections:
Section 1: Animal Husbandry and system management
Section 2: Coral exhibit design and large exhibits
Section 3: Population management
Section 4: Conservation and transportation
Section 5: Taxonomy
It's a lot of info for sure (I've only read it once), but I thought it might be of interest to at least a few of y'all here. The online version is available for free, but if you'd prefer a printed copy you can also order one through the website. I apologize if this is already common knowledge, but I thought I should share it just in case. Enjoy!
