Coral ID and help

Got this coral from a friend, not sure exactly what it is. I have lps and a few sps growing happily in the tank, so I figured it wouldnt be a problem. The last few days it developed a couple of these patches, though. The flesh is gone on the spot, showing steleton with dark growth on it. Ideas?

Not looking super happy for sure. What are your tank parameters compared to your friends? How old is the system, and just what are your parameters?

LPS corals like a bit of Nitrate, but not too much, a bit of moderate flow, and not being scorched by extreme par from the lights.

Does it open up at night at all? If so, maybe try feeding it some mysis or similar.
