not sure why I bought this mostly dead coral from my LFS. After feeding directly for 3 weeks, there is a tiny bit of flesh. Any idea what this is? Can it be rescued?

Looks like a candy cane of some type. Judging from the appearance of the polyps I'd say yes but it will take time. I'd leave it right where it's at and you might consider dipping it in a diluted solution of aquarium water and H2O2 (6 parts aquarium water to 1 part H2O2) to help kill the algae but wait a week or two befire doing it to let the polyps grow some.

Time and feeding has helped so much. This guy looks to be a torch?

It looks very upset.
It was almost nothing three months ago. Then it came back only to get nipped by the Foxface. Changed location and this is progress. Although not a stunning coral yet, I am happy.

My fingers crossed.
Feeding can be stressful.
