Hey guys, what the heck is this... It's pretty flat, and has a few tiny ridges that jet up... A few more that seem to be forming. I'd guess Green monti but they seem more "bumpy" though... This things pretty flat. Im not into plating corals and sps(sorry) so i really have no clue what this is. Got is as a freebie. Thanks for the help.

I'd say plating green leptoseris

I was thinking that before too especially since it kinda has tiny dots almost like a chalice... Because leptoseris looked more bumpy to me too.

Could you get a clearer shot of the pattern, could be leptoseris, pavona or maybe even pachyseris.
Weird little thing lol. Blues are kicking on now so its not as white, but you can see the little white dots i was talking about above. It does have the lines like leptoseris but also small little dots.

Heres a pic for reference, might need to let yours grow out

Im thinking @C. Eymann was correct with it being a pachyseris. This is the only thing ive found with the same stripe pattern and small little dots. This ones dots seem more uniform though.

Pachyseris will grow in unique pattern so wait until grows some, yours does seem to have ridges common with pachyseris. Pachyseris is a very cool coral, I love the look of it. Also, heres a pavona coral as well for reference.

Well, I didnt say it was pachyseris, just said it was a possibility without better pics, but now that I have seen a better pic, I'd probably rule pachyseris out. Either leptoseris or pavona cactus IMO

Years back, knew this piece as elephant skin coral . It grows slowly and found in the Pacific.
These corals use the nutrients in the water as well as the zooxanthellae in their bodies to feed themselves and use a form of mucous net to capture small particles, same as what a parrotfish produces.

So im pretty sure it is pachyseris now the blues have kicked on, especially if what @DSC reef said about them having different patterns. The white dots are now highlighter yellow/yellow and the rest went neon greenish. Thank you all very much.

Huh, had no idea pachyseris morphology could vary so much within the genus, or even in a species!

Below is all the same species P. inattesta, crazy different!

Guess Pachyseris could be a possibility after all?

If it grows out we will really be able to tell. I don't have the best lights for SPS(orbit pros) so i might end up taking it off the frag and gluing it on the backing and see if it grows there. My rocks also aren't the highest since i was going for a cove look. So gotta find somewhere to make her happy, good thing is, when looking up most the types mentioned they all liked moderate to high lighting and strong flow. So off to find a place to keep it happy, thanks all once again, i appreciate it. Always fun to learn something new.

dont worry too much on light as these are found in mainly deep water
