I have 2 corals I need help identifying. The blue and orange one is supposedly a brain coral. I can't really tell and the the pink and blue is a favia but it looks like an acan to me. The both kind of do. Any help is greatly appreciated

Acanthastrea echinata, and a Favites or perhaps Dipsastraea(formerly Favia) species that I can't seem to fully rememeber. Can't get em all right I guess (;

Yep those are Micromussa lordhowensis, what used to be called Acanthastrea lordhowensis. Used to be in the same Genus before. But yeah they're different species.

Sweet! Thanks. Now another question can I put all three of those acans on the same rock. Currently I have the 2 genus separated

No. I thought I could put the enchinata with other acans and woke up to the enchinata covering the acan Lord with filaments. Almost lost the lord.

Its a bad picture because the blues are on but you can still see what's left of the upper acan after the coral warfare with the enchinata. They are nice looking, but the enchinata is very aggressive.

I kind of figured as much. Luckily I've always had them spaced apart!!!

If they grow together you'll run into aggression problems, with same species a lot of corals are fine, with different Genera you should keep them from getting too close.

Good to know!! The enchinata is on a separate island all by itself

I will do that. For the most part all my species of coral that are the same are near each other but I definitely have them all spaced out well. I watch this tank like a hawk
