So I recently came back to the hobby after 15 yrs. A very good friend of mine decided to surprise me with a coral frag. Unfortunately she didn’t get much if any info when she purchased it. Since this is my first attempt at coral I’m still a noob when it comes to identifying most corals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the best photo I’ve been able to get. It seems happy, but I want to be sure I have it in the best location.

Hey thanks a lot. Been trying to find pics for almost a week to match it up. Luckily it seems like I stumbled onto the “right” spot for it. Thanks again.

YW;)
Welcome to R2R!!!
Thanks. Learning a lot just reading through the threads. After 15 yrs having to learn it all again is exciting. One of the things that attracted me to the hobby in the first place.

Okay guys and gals. Got a freebie from my LFS. The sales person said Lobophyllia but she didn’t seem very sure of herself. After researching, I’m thinking Favites. As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Reef Lover, I am definitely learning a lot. Never tried corals years ago before I gave up the hobby. So this site is a God-send. Researching by yourself can only get u so far. The hundreds, if not thousands, of years or collective experience is priceless.

Hi friends, do you know which corral is this, also as in the Pic is looked, it seems something has been started happening. In the red circle. What is your openiun? What can I do if any?
