I believe this a Monti, anyone have any idea which species? Trying to get it in the optimal place for lighting/flow and maximum growth. It almost died out on me and has been coming back slowly as you can see. Key there was Alk stability, which I've had right at 8.0 for the last month or so now day and night.

Thanks!

Possibly a montipora monasteriata?
Look up superman monti see if it resembled that before going down hill.

Could be, it looks to be thinner than the results I'm seeing for the superman.

In any event, is there a best practice for how to promote new growth when there are a few surviving polyps surrounded by skeleton?

Going to tag @Crabs McJones as he keeps more montis than i do.

Personally with encrusting corals, I would keep things as stable as possible to let it recover.

Very hard to tell in its current state. I would guess maybe monitpora capricornis?
Keep parameters and lighting stable, looks like it's on the road to recovery :)
