Coral ID please

This arrived on some gulf live rock and I am not sure what it is.

Yes it does. I was thinking all cup corals could retract into their skeleton, but I guess that must just be hidden cup corals (?). This cannot do that. It has been basically flat and slowly growing for a year. It looked a lot like a little favia. Then suddenly extended like this a few days ago. If they can't all retract into the skeletons, then I think you are right.

I think you solved it. When I got the rock it looked like a little bit of goo on there. I wasn't sure if it was anything or not, but I just kept putting reef roids on it to see what would happen. I guess it has been working. It does have a bit of green coloring under blues.

I would sway more towards ball anemone or hydroid.
I'm no expert but little balls on the end of fingers make me think this way

It has a skeleton, it’s a cup coral. Cup corals also have a little ball on the end of their tentacles

Poke it. See how much it shrinks up and if it has a hard skeleton. It looks very much to me like it has a hard skeleton, but lightly poking is the best way to be sure.

I quick googled atlantic rose coral ,thought possibly it closed up ??
