I got this at the locale fish store they could not think of the name its like a live rock the polyps go inside the rock when closed . If this is posted in the wrong area please move or let me know I would love to know what it is !

I have one of them I don't think its the same it is a deep purple color and when the polyps retract it looks like just like a bare rock ! At first I thought star polyp but there's no mat .
 
Color variation of Clavularia is very diverse. If it's not Clavularia then it could be Briareum/Star polyps, a coral that also displays diverse coloration types, but displays mat formation growth. Look at Stolonifera. Does not look like any Xenia or Anthelia that I have ever seen, nor Tubipora.
