I've heard that with no source of amonia the bacteria starts to die off or something.

Their numbers will decrease but the nitrifying bacterial colony won't entirely vanish, even if you were stop feeding entirely for months.
But you then have to be careful and only introduce new livestock slowly, giving the tank time to readjust between one new addition and the next. :)

Sweet! Now because I am a noob please bare with me. Should I be adding to the tank anything to feed the new corals i just added? Or is the trace elements in the water changes enough?

I would not feed these corals yet. I would concentrate on getting the light, water quality and flow right first.
Once you and the corals are happy with the setup, you might experiment with getting them to thrive better with coral food.
Many are not convinced that commercial coral foods do anything.
However I personally do use them. Broadcast method, at night, not directed feeding.
Don't do this until your nitrates and phosphates are where you want them to be and not too high already.

You're welcome. Note that others may have entirely different opinions!!!

I am no novice when it comes to forums so gathering sources of information and weeding through the multitude of advice from various sources is easily weighed and distributed through my matured matrix of problem solving. lol #grainOfSalt :)

Mushroom. . .. either Rhodactis or Yuma.

Had to completely change out my rockscape to accomodate my new little friends and decided to make them a showcase piece. (Very picky corals about the amount of light and flow they get.) Was hard to find a place in the tank that wasn't blasting them. Ended up making a little cave wall for them that shields them from the pumps.
