Not sure what the heck this is. I think it Monti but not sure, Dosent look like any Monti I’ve ever seen. Polyps are closely spaced and really hairy extensions? Was sold to me at LFS as a sunset Monti. But the last hour I’ve been scratching my goatee pondering if it’s some kind of Monti digi?
Has only been In the tank about 30mins and I would assume it’s fully extended almost. Seems to be happy.

The polyps remind me of porites but its just that polyp spacing are a little far apart to porites. So i will stick with monti but could it be reverse sunset monti?? Yours looks like it has a green body and orange polyps. Sunsets are orange with green polyps hence why i suspect yours to be reverse sunset instead.

Yellowish green body, and reddish orange polyps. Got it for 10$ so I can’t complain, just want to make sure I get it to a place that suits it’s needs. I know sunsets love lower light then most monti so don’t wanna put this guy in acro country and roast it to death lol, I’ve only cared for green monti and that thing loved light 400+par lol just like to make a clear path to success wherever I can

That’s a good approach, when it doubt start at lower lighting. However, I believe you can gradually bring the coral closer to the light. If you have a frag rack or a diy frag rack attached to a magnet, you could monitor and gradually acclimatise the coral higher up.

Yeah that sounds like Reverse Sunset. The colours will change depending on your lights and intensity.

^ big time it’s growing on the underside of it, that’s why I didn’t smush it in the sand the new growth is white so tells me it’s healthy atleast 2-3 months since fragged, if it has gown that fast, my green monti was not a fast grower at all but was always really colored. It only had a slight white rim as it grew. Can’t wait to see how this little guy turns out.
