Coral ID / Won’t open

Hey everyone,

I just picked up this coral on Thursday 12/30. I picked up a few others the day before Zoas and Mushroom. This one has not opened yet. Honestly not sure what kind it is. Thinking it’s a daisy coral or something similar from what I’ve been able to look up and find myself. It has tiny little yellow flowers that covered it when I got it from the LFS. I know they need a few days to open, just wondering if anything might be wrong.

I’ve be struggling keeping my phosphates low. I’ve been told it’s the test kit I’ve been using. Ordered a Hanna last night. Currently using Salifert PO4 test kit.

Tank has been up 3 Months. Possibly I added this type of coral too soon. Not even sure what kind it is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like could be an encrusting monti. Is is a hard skeleton? Soft mat? Did you see it open at the lfs?

Yes it’s hard, little pimple like holes. Did a reef dip for 10 minutes when I got it.
It was open at the store, closed up I’m assuming when it went into the bag like the Zoa and GSP. But those opened up in about 12hrs.

Give it a couple days to adjust. Sounds like an encrusting monti, but hard to tell exactly (some of those encrusting sps look sooooo similar).

Still has not opened, Ive recently dosed Phytoplankton, Zooplankton and Reef Plus... Now rapid algae growth....
