Not sure if this is the proper location to add this thread??? I got this as a tiny frag about 10 months ago. Every since it has grown very well and I have fragged it a couple of times. I would assume that this a common coral but I cant seem to find another like it.... If anyone knows what it is please let me know! It is an encrusting coral.

THANKS!!

I agree, it looks great. It has the short tenticals that can be seen in the picture. It has longer tenticals at night when it is feeding. Its an awesome coral but I have no idea of what it is....

From the picture it does look kind of like a Galaxea but in person it is completely different than a Galaxea.

can you take a picture of it with the polyps retracted? That way we can kinda see the skeletal base?

i count 24 tentitals per polyp and look kinda like a closed up goniopora hard to tell from the pic through

Sorry for the delay! I will take a picture and post it tomorrow with the tenticles retracted. Since a couple of you think that it might be a Galaxea I have looked at a ton of pictures of Galaxea's. It is VERY close! It might be a Galaxea that has morphed a little.
When I got it as a small frag it looked completely different. Since I have had the coral it has been about 10 inches from a 400 watt single ended Ushio bulb with a LumenArc reflector. With that being said there is a good chance that being under that much light, it morphed??

what does the base look like? is there individual stalks on the bottom

I'm going with Hydnophora. I've got a friend with a 30-36" diameter one that looks very similar to that. When I charge my phone, I'll get a pic up. Not much detail in the phone pic, though...

Looks like a Hydnophora exesa to me - pretty much the same structure, same coloration etc.
