Bought this at the lfs I work at for $20. No one knows what it is and I've never seen anything like it so I had to get it. It's very fleshy like a mushroom with a stony base

It's really fleshy though it feels like a mushroom that's what's throwing me off

Some chalices are fleshy, ushually means their healthy. Fat and puffy is good, if its got a hard skeletal structure than it cannot be a mushroom.

I know that but it's not puffy it flares out like a mushroom

The tissue is also retractile almost like when u touch a clam it completely goes into the skeleton

Ad it fully retracts which is strange u can see the skeleton completely when it does and it doesn't look like chalice skeleton so im stumped

Of course now it isn't retracted it's fully acclimated now I don't want to irritate it. It's like a bunch of straight lines if for some reason it closes up again I'll post it
