So I picked up a small frag the other day and I'm not sure what it is. I thought that it could be an acan or brain coral but I'm not sure. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!

It looks like an acan echinata to me. Do the polyps look to be infused? If so then probably echinata. If they are separated it could be an acan lord but they don't look separated to me.

If it is an echinata make sure it has lots of space. They can be nasty!

I vote something in favia family. Heads have visible separations not found in enchinata. Or the true total separations you find in acan lords.

I am not seeing the visible separation. Are you talking about the light green? If so, then I could possibly see favia.

Enchinata have the smooth top appearance much like a chalice. A number of times enchinata has been mistaken for a chalice. Enchinatas have no visible corallite ridge.

Alright yup I can see it now. Thanks for the lesson :)
