Purchased this frag at my lfs and wondering what exactly it is... Any help is appreciated!

I thought that at first as well but it's connected to the bottom via a stem and spreads over the whole plug so that's why I question it but thank you for the help!

Looks like it might be a small frag of a pagoda cup coral.
