The texture and color doesn't look like any of my other shrooms. It's not a carpet anemone right? Can't get a better picture at the moment because it's still curled up.

Looks like it could be a not so happy Rhodactis.

and just to clarify just in case Rhodactis is a type of mushroom.

Could also be ricordia. what did it look like in the store?

Main visible difference between the Rhodactis and Ricordia is how close the bumps get to the mouth.

can't tell till it opens up. Put it on a frag rack or in a spot where you can get it out if it's not what you want.

I'm leaning toward Rhodactis now but the color really surprises me. The bumps aren't as pronounced as in a Ricordia. Noticed this morning part of its body was torn (the fold on the right side is formed from the rip) so that's probably why it looks so ticked off. Bought it as a loose coral laying on the sandbed for $8 so no complaints here! Best picture I can get of it in the cup.
