Hi. New to the coral game and got some new corals but I can’t remember the names of two of them if anyone can help me out. Thanks

first one look like zoas and 2nd is a candy cane coral

So if it’s Zoas then they are closed up pretty tight? This is what they looked like at the LFS as well except the tips seemed a bit more orange under their lights. Don’t zoas usually have bigger heads that look more like sunflowers?

Yes, it looks like they are stressed, probably because of your water params. What are your params?

Give the zoa Gentle bursts of water with a turkey baster and assure theyr getting moderate light and water flow.

Does your temp swing that much throughout the day?

They are stressed and will take a while to acclimate. Also, if you do wish to clean them up a little like brushing off algae, do get those soft make up brushes that are normally used for eye makeup. Those bristles are soft and gentle on the polyps.

Thanks for the info. My params are normal except pH is little low at 8.0 but LFS said that was ok. I think maybe it needed cleaning because I hadn’t done a dip on it. I just did one and put it back and it looks like one is starting to open. I also switched it’s spot to one with more light. I don’t know but maybe this will help? I think it looks a little better now. Lol Venus photo bombed that pic but the fish aren’t bothering it. Might let it rest today and then try to clean it up more on the other side tomorrow?
