I've had this piece for some time but I can't remember what the name of it is. It's grown pretty large and now I'm thinking of selling it in order to make room for a gold tip elegance I bought. Anyone know what it is? I was thinking maze but it looks different than most maze I've seen. It is also getting some orange, yellow and purple color to it. Also any potential price range to be selling it for?

Try Goniastrea?
That's a good starting point. There seems to be a lot of different coral ones that species that have a similar look to mine. If I remember correctly this one was a wild caught piece from some area between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea

I wouldn't call it a maze brain, or at least not Platygyra.

I agree that's a good start. Despite my trying, I can't really tell the difference between Goniastrea, Favia, and Favites.

You'd be safe calling it a brain. It should be worth some money.

I guess I'll keep trying to compare mine to other pictures. I got it as a 2-3 inch frag some time ago and now its way bigger than my hand

Mine is similar. Lfs called it a brain. At times it gets 6" sweepers.

Yours has more "elevated" ridges around the eyes. Not sure how else to describe it but mine is smaller in the ridges and it doesn't get sweepers that long they are really short. Its so interesting how they are all so different

I have something similar, but I think different than both of yours. I don't know which of the 3 I mentioned earlier it is.

That one actually looks a bit more like it from the way the ridges are close to the eyes and not tall like the other ones. A friend told me to frag the colony and call it "rainbow peacock brain frags"

I scrolled back up to the first couple pictures, and if it’s one of the two it would be Favia and not Favites.
So some of the ridges are a bit taller and others are much closer to the mouths

This is a Favia… the distinctive difference between the 2 is the Favia has more defined polyps/heads, whereas a favites is more singular/smooth in appearance with a distinctive mouth
