Coral ID?

A friend gave this to me. It’s what was growing on the side of a couple of broken frag plugs and I glued the two pieces together. Looks to me like some sort of cyphastrea maybe? Certainly some type of encrusting coral

I think you’re right. Some type of chalice, name unknown. There was very little of it on the plugs when I got it, and it’s grown pretty quickly. I didn’t know if anything would survive as the frag plugs were old and crumbling.
