Hi all,

Does anyone know the name of this coral. I got it with my Xmas tree rock. It looks like a zoa but when it retracts it has a hard skeleton. Guessing it's some kind of LPS. Anyone know? Thanks

They look like palythoa, something like button palys, just a bit scrunched together because of their growth pattern. Does it have a hard skeleton, or is just sort of an encrusting thing?

That's what I initially thought. But they have a hard skeleton when it retracts and no stalks like zoas/palys. It started growing onto the big rock and now it's partially stuck so I can't move it closer to take a clearer pic.

Tubastrea?

No, it doesn't look like one of those. I did a search on Google and it turns out they might just be an encrusting zoa. Something like this:

You said it had a stony skeleton I thought. Cool find whatever it is. Good luck!
