Hi guys,

What's this coral? I bought a John Deere Leptastrea a few years ago and this grew out of part of it. The polyps are bigger than most Leptastrea. Maybe 2x the size.

That would be awesome! Some additional details though, the skeleton looks like this:

Still blasto? I've seen blastos with small polyps before but they were branching. These grow faster, more like a Leptastrea.

I would guess leptastrea, if there is separation skeletally on the polyps blasto, and if I'm viewing it wrong there's a small chance it could be a hydnophora but I would put my money on leptastrea. Cool coral!

Can anyone tell me what variety is called? It is starting to take over my reef

Looks like aptasia anemones

That's aiptasia. It'll continue to spread and will be increasingly more difficult to control. I'd say you have a full blown infestation already. Time to take action now.

Certainly not blasto. Agree with others it is a leptastrea.
