Extremely hard to see under heavy blue light. May be stylopora but a mere guess

This is probably close to correct, or a frag of a toadstool leather.

I don’t think he’d give me an SPS. I told him multiple times I was a beginner with corals

Now that you say that, I think i remember him calling it a leather coral. But when i looked up toadstools it looked nothing like it so i assumed i misheard him

There are many leather coral, common names go
Long polyp toad, finger, spegetti finger, crown leather coral, devils hand.
