Got into saltwater hobby a few months back and wanted to know what coral this is that my friend bought me.

May be zoa coral but as stated- does not look like much of any life to make a positive id

I can't see it any clearer. Maybe Vetteguy is right and it's a closed up zoa polyp or polyps but it's hard to say. Im on my phone, maybe someone can see it better on a PC.

Definitely looks like GSP. (Green Star Polyp)

Probably brought over because it's an easy beginner coral that is very prolific

glue it to rock and place it in the sand.
