What type of coral are these two different types. One was bought on a piece of live rock by accident, the other was given to me by a friend. Both alive but I want to know what I’m dealing with and how to help it grow better.

The first one looks very dead, no sure on species.

2nd looks like a badly bleached Montipora digitata, or maybe a stylopora. Was it white before getting it or did it turn white once in your tank?

The first resembles more of a macro algae, though I’m not too sure. Second looks like sponge- low light, moderate flow and high nutrients!

second one looks like pink nepthia or similar leather

Was white when I received it, the polyps are out and happy the first is not dead and is looking better than before. They are both growing by the day. The first is much bigger than before I received it

First looks like an encrusting bryozoan to me, but I could be wrong. Second reminds me of a species of gorgonian. Where was this rock from?

Well guys I’ve got two more for ya I’m on a coral spree and bought some more the guy who helped me told me what they were but my memory is so bad I done know where my head is. Bought them a day ago very pretty very healthy.

1st looks like Duncan it's an LPS. I put mine 80-120 par (lower in tank)
2nd is a zoa of sorts they can go lower as well but once acclimated they can go higher up. Both easy care level ime

2nd is pandora give that thing its own island if you don't want it overtaking the tank. Superfast growing paly

We know you think you'll want that but trust me, it gets annoying. I have 200+ polyps of nirvana I had to throw out because they took over so much. Now I only have a hundred or so lol

Do they like high or low flow, I’ve got kind of high flow there not being blasted but they are very much swaying.

Swaying is good. I have them kinda everywhere and they do well. Just picked up some grim reapers and those are kinda my grip right now lol. They are mid light more flow and doing great. Zoa adapt pretty well only higher end ones need special care in my experience

The man who helped me told me they wouldn’t spread to quick especially if I get other coral to compete with it. I was originally thinking about xinia coral but that spreads way to fast.

Grim reapers never heard of them. You’ll have to share a picture. What are the care/price on them. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on coral that may or may not die in my tank due to my lack of knowledge. Wish there was a website that had all the right answers and solutions lol .

These are grims. People ask 150-250 per polyp for them. It's insane. I have an exosphere as well that's the same cost. It gets crazy w prices. Once they take off I won't be charging that for them. Fraction of the cost.

I would love to buy some from you haha

Same once they do take off let me know I’ll have to buy some off you because those are beautiful.

I use Snapchat for that. I take a pic of the frag and label in in the app, then send it to my wife who feigns interest.

I hate shipping lol but once I get a good amount I'll let you know. I have like 5 or 6 heads now but I want 15+ before I cut on it. Hope to.have a few other unique ones as well. Princess oxana, exosphere, stratocaster, speckled Kraus (have 10 or so), hepheastus, utter chaos (have 20 or so), aphrodite, beauty and the beast, chuckies bride, Yoda, rainbow hornets, aio or aoi, few others just can't remember all the names

Sorry to hijack post!! There are tons of beautiful zoa. Look on here in the zoa club forum and you'll see tons. Soo many you will go bankrupt trying to but them all
