Can someone help me put a name to these corals? 20231219_095710.jpg 20231219_095639.jpg 20231219_095609.jpg

Looks like Bizarro Cyphastrea, Spicy Lemon Favia/Favites, and another favia, there are a lot of variations of the favia in that last pic and a million names to go with them.

I’d recommend cutting the stems off the frag plugs and glueing them straight to the rock as all three are encrusting corals. They will spend forever growing all around the plugs as they can’t bridge gaps before they will start growing onto the rock. Sticking them in some epoxy and attaching them to the rocks will make them look more natural much faster.

Thank you.

I needed to find out what they were so I could check lighting and flow before properly placing them. I usually trim the frag stem down to about 1/8" and it helps to locate the frag in the rock.

Bizarro cyphastrea and 2 favias.

Look at feeders extending from middle area of polyps in last pic. That's no blasto.

1. Cyphastrea
2. Favites pentagona, not Favia
3. cf Merulinidae sp; would need a clearer photo to tell; not Favia, though
