Coral Identification

I made the mistake of getting this coral without writing its species name down somewhere. It’s grown so much and I really would like to look into the best way to maintain this guy if he gets “too big.” If any of the pros and vets could help me identify what kind of coral this is, I would be very grateful!

Xenia of some sort. Waving I believe?

I have the same kind and they are impossible to kill

Awesome thank you so much for the help! I had a feeling it was a Xenia but wasn’t too sure since the polyps are so dang small

Idk it looks a lot like my waving xenia with the very long arms and short tips.

Do anthelia create their own flow when the pumps are off?

No they aren’t pulsing at all :/

That's ok if they are anthelia they don't spread out of control like zenia in my experience. I love mine.

Thanks so much for the pic and response! Looks like we have the exact same species. Mine is the same color and everything. Do the polyps ever grow in size?

They will once they get used to the parameters. Keep them stable. These are easy coral and add movement to the tank. Yours don't look like they are moving enough. Change position so they stand up and sway a little.

Agree , waving zenia which need medium water flow to capture food and keep debris off of it.

Yeah they do, mine are just recovering from a bad bacterial bloom but high flow seems to help ime

you know what you are 100% right....

i remembered it wasnt xenia but cespitularia is a much harder name to remember

I live fairly close to tidal gardens and cespitularia also spreads like a weed so i'm not surprised my lfs has a ton
