I got my first coral yesterday, one hammer and one I don’t know the name of.

Can someone help me identify the name of the coral. Thank you

Green star polyps. Does good in almost all conditions and is such a fast grower I’d put it on an isolated rock.

GSP (Briareum sp.) Super fast and almost invasive grower but it's gorgeous. I'd isolate it on a small rock in the sand bed away from your main structure or else it'll cover everything. And make sure you're dosing calc, alk, and mag for that hammer

Thank you for your responses. Will the GSP sting other coral if they touch each other?

You also might have gotten a freebee with the hammer too, clove polyps or xenia or something similar...
Also, keep an eye on that algae you have, close ups can reveal some things you might not normally see....

Didn't even notice those. Could be Sympodium considering the way the polyps close

GSP will not sting but it will smother almost everything it comes in contact with... It is sorta like lava from a volcano...;Wideyed

This. Likes a lot of flow and can be difficult to rid of if it takes over aquascape so should isolate.
