Coral inhabit another coral skeleton???

As the title, would another coral inhabit/grow over another dead skeleton?
I think it would be pretty cool to see encrusting coral to take new shape over another skeleton such as acro or scoly skeleton

Maybe, but chances are algae will take hold first.

If original Skeleton died, I doubt another would grow over, even algae will struggle to grow on a dead coral unless its fully decomposed

Corals overrun dead coral skeletons all the time. That’s how natural reefs build up.
