So I'm currently cycling a 20g long to be used as a QT for corals and inverts, and I'm wondering about the best method to go about feeding the inverts. In this first batch of "occupants" I'm looking to have a half dozen or so frags of softies and LPS as well as an initial CUC for the DT. The plan is to quarantine the whole lot for 76 days. The CUC will consist of 2 peppermint shrimp, 5 trochus snails, and 5 cerith snails.
The QT has 3 x 240 GPH powerheads, a large sponge filter, and a AquaTop Xyclone protein skimmer (rated up to 100g & 370 GPH). I'm guessing I may need to pull out one of the powerheads. The skimmer isn't hooked up yet since the tank just started cycling.
Questions
1. Is that too many inverts for the tank?
2. What should I feed the critters since there will be zero algae and no leftovers from fish feeding?
3. If that's not too many critters, could I add in a couple small porcelain crabs, or is that a bad idea?
Thanks!
