Coral life protein skimmer

I bought one of these off a friend and he said il need an air intake. I googled what I could to find the information. I guess mine doesn't have this. Any info would help

Tetra whisper 40 air pump, and a metal air value. Those 2 upgrades will make that skimmer work so much better. Also I found better lime wood on amazon then the coralife brand.

Got some pics ? Im a visual person i have a corallife skimmer but it dont require air i dont guess anyway

The air inlet for the skimmer is on the pump itself, theres a little nipple the airline attaches to. See the airline attaches right at the filter intake part, and there is a silencer on the other end.
