Coral Losing Color

Verify that 7 pH first. Years ago (like 1964), I bought a bottle of Rila pH indicator. pH read low and I added baking soda according to directions from the LFS. I added a little checked pH and it didn't come up. Long story short, I added a whole box. The Condylactis anemone did not respond well. i've never trusted liquid pH indicators since unless there is an expiration date.
Good point! I’ll wait to get my new test kit to verify parameters before trying to adjust them. Thanks...

I was 9 years old when I killed my anemone. Saved my allowance for 2 months. Paid $2 for it. A lesson I haven't forgotten.

to get your PH up I would do a water change using quality salt. Make sure your tank is getting plenty of oxygen. You can add Kalkwasser to your ATO as well.

Try aerating your water to help your ph. Point a powerhead or return towards surface of the water to agitate it, one way to help slightly increase your ph without adding anything unnecessary and subsequently altering something else. This helps with the gas exchange.
