Coral lovers: tattoo ideas?

Hey guys, I'm getting an octopus drawn up for me and my artist suggested using corals as some of the background (filler).

My question is...... What types of coral do you think would look good? The octopus is primarily going to be shades of red/orange, and the water would be blue. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I would do things are are pretty easy to recognize, like thick seafans, tree sponges, brain coral, etc...

Most coral tats I've seen have lots of barnicles, sponges, and scroll type corals with sea fans etc. But I think Z and P polyps would look really nice too. I was thinking a nice tube anemone would be cool as well. I have a bunch of fish and an octopus tattooed on me, but have not gone with coral yet. I personally don't care if someone doesnt "recognize" it for what it is. It's my tattoo. So get what corals you want as long as the artist feels like he can do it to the size necessary to where they can be detailed enough and not just bleed together so to speak.

I have a mantis shrimp on my are and have been thinking about some ideas for corals to go in the background after I get the color finished. I was thinking zs and ps would look cool too if your artist can pull it off. I also want some kind of sps just have to run it by my artist and see what he thinks.

You can add some Ricordeas, Polyps, Acans, anemone with shrimps,, sponges, tunicates, clams, etc... Something like this:

Thanks for all the ideas. Zs and Ps would be perfect since he typically likes to put some type of "flower" in his work. With so many types of Zs it's going to be hard to narrow it down! Lol

get your favorite acros on there because it will have more meaning to you. I would get the ice fire echinata, rainbow delight, pink lemonade, lokani colony, etc.

I've seen someone with one large polyp of purple hornet on there shoulder. Looked like a bad purple sun lol

There are many kinds of coral which you can use. You can search out them on the net also. The pictures showing here are also good and they are also appreciated.

just like a tank dont narrow it to 1 however dark magics and the speckled ones look quite good
