One of my clove polyps has been putting out lots of mucus - I actually never noticed until yesterday. Other corals seem fine. Wondering if this is common among clove polyps more than any other coral types.
Soft corals usually put out more mucus than other types of corals.
However, they do this usually when they are either disturbed, stressed and sometimes as a feeding response.
If this isn't a feeding response, I would make sure nothing is disturbing them.
Sometimes fish or other inhabitants in the tank may develop a taste for corals and bite it, pests exists as well.
