Coral, mushroom, nem, other ?

Came in with some live rocks I added in my refugium, it has a foot, move it's "head" toward the light and seems to close in the dark.
Size is between 1\4 and 1\2 inch depending of how it s open, color is orange\brown-ish.
Wonder what it is, don't find anything to compare with, thank you all.

I think you re right, looked on Google and it looks a lot like a red mushroom coral.

Looks like a red discosoma mushroom. Those are great, they grow really quickly, reproduce by budding which they do quite often once they get comfortable, and they are super easy to keep. Never had any issues with my spotted shroom.

That s awesome, since it s attached to a big rock in my refugium and I don t want this big rock in my DT, is there a way to take this lonely guy in my DT without the rock ?
Will it survive in the refugium with only a few hours of five light a day ?

@LRT can tell you the easiest ways to relocate it.

You can use a exacto blade (or razor blade) and cut it off the rock at the base. A little tricky, but easily doable.
Getting it to attach to another rock is a bit of a challenge. You will need to either use a mushroom box of sorts or a container with rubble that you place the mushroom in and put in a low flow area of the tank. Once they attach to the rubble, you can then take it and attach anywhere in your rock work.
Getting it off the rock is the easier of the 2 tasks...

If it was me I'd take hammer and screwdriver and break it off rock. You can also do as others said and remove foot from rock but will cause some stress.
Its reaching for more light for sure.

Once it’s in the main tank you may be able to just set it in they have feet so they move where there comfortable.

Op, this is the best option, just please DON'T chisel it in the sump. Remove the whole rock to not transfer any force below it

Shroom and rock can come out of the water for a few minutes to chisel it off the rock. Won’t hurt a thing.

Breaking the rock is definitely an option. You don't have to worry about keeping it under water though. Mushrooms are ok out of water for a while as long as they stay wet. They're quite hardy!

You can always set it up high on the rock to give it more light if needed. Shrooms are lower light corals, so tons of options for light.

Thankfully mushroom corals are low light corals that rely on water nutrients more than anything else. So I think it should be fine in that lighting. I'd wait for more people to chime in though, as I'm no expert.

When you use the hammer, definitely do that out of the tank. You don't want any of the force to crack your glass, otherwise you'll have a big problem...

Hope you started him in low light low flow area. Biggest, fastest way I've found to kill or mess up a shroom is too much light or sudden changes in intensity. Remember hes been in no light. Id start it low flow low light and gradually move it up if its reaching it needs more light. When it lays down and opens up its happy and ok.
