Coral name

Can someone indentify this coarl for me

Possibly a chalice. I've seen those large polyps before in a members tank @HB AL

Either that or a Cyphastrea.


Watch it at night and look for sweepers. If it puts out really long ones it may be a Stunner Chalice.

DSC beat me to it.

The color looks like a Stunner Chalice, or a variant, but the size of the polyps is what is throwing me off.

Be sure to give it some room. Stunner's have some crazy long sweepers. Mine will put out some up to 4-6 inches and sting everything around them. I had to move my Elkhorn and Porites because my Stunner was causing them issues.

They can grow crazy fast when they are happy.

Bought mine from WWC as astreopora. Center of frag has orange but rest of it has no orange

I would move it away from the hammer. Both corals will put out serious sweepers as they grow. Mid tank is fine

That's definitely astreopra, that's a nice green.
