Coral not grow.

I have problem with opening Zoa and torch..
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate. 20
Alkalinity 12
Ph. 7.8
And I have 30 g bow front built in and 4 fish...
My light kessil a360 we tuna blue
Can someone help me or tell me what to do ,to make mi tank pretty?

Ph is low should be at 8.2-3
Nitrate is way way way higher at 20ppm should be 2-3 ppm
What percentage is your kessil set at

Ammonia way too high I hate to be that guy to say it. But your tank is not ready for coral right now how old is the tank? You will be able to grow "once you get your nitrate down and ammonia levels almost down to o ppm also get that ph stabilized.

Sounds like your tank hasn't cycled completely
I waited 4 months before adding corals

My tank is 8 month old but I make lot mistake be 4.and run my light with lot off intensity..I did not know that I need to add fresh water when I do water change and spend lot money on coral that keep die..
Only acan is doing good

Also your alk is really high. Can't believe your fish are still alive with that ammonia spike

I've had my alk spike as high as 15 and everything was happy and going great I did however bring it back down to 8-9's, yeah that ammonia is lethal!

Okay it sounds like you need to do some more research, I would recommend watching the BRS series on YouTube you will find most of your answers you seek there.
In the mean time and this case an emergencie situation:
You need to

1 Perform a water change of half the tank water volume. You shouldn't add freshwater when doing water changes...0nly for the top off as the water is evaporating.
2. Dose the tank with prime immediately!
3. Decrease your intensity on the lights, meaning you should not be going over 45% intensity right now, also make sure the light is at least 8-10 inches off the water surface. Also get a programmer.
4. Get a ph buffer to bring up your ph in this case you might want to look into aquavitro 8.4 and balance to help with ph.
5. Watch the brs 160 52 weeks of feefing there is loads and loads of information that is benifical for beginners in here


That should get you in the right direction and hopefully save the tank inhabitants.

The ammonia might be a sign that something is dead in your tank right now.

When you're saying it isn't growing how long of a period are you waiting?

Also the pH is on the low side.. (mine too 7.8-7.9) I think increasing it to 8.2 will also increase growth.

I'm not good with zoa advice but I literally just added two frags today that have around 11 heads total. 1 is open and 2 are half way open. I don't add anything to raise my pH because I've heard its better to just keep it stable. So instead of dosing to raise pH, I just let it stay where it is hoping the corals will stress less from the constant move.

I'm of the opinion that he should turn them up. I don't have this light however, just going off a number I saw on aqua illumination saying peak par is 49, at 2 feet away, from a Kessil A360W tuna blue. I know my corals close when its dark. My zoas are chilling around 100-120 par currently.

@Gjikovi however if you turn them up do it slowly... Easier to kill stuff with more light than not enough.

I wouldn't be adding anykind of added light stress to the corals with the parameters being the way they are, it might lead to cascading effects. But yes if you do it do it very slowly over a couple weeks! Kessil is very powerful and from experience I've burned my corals bad before.

All excellent advice.

Get a ph buffer

Avoid this though. Add a balanced Cal/alk supplement to increase PH but oly if you have to. One reason for low Ph is the lack of organisms producing oxygen and higher c02 as its winter and windows are closed.

In IMO in tank that small decent light and water changes should do everything you need for minerals so you likely fall into the high co2 Ph prob.

Definitely find the source of the ammonia.
