Hey all. I am kind of confused on this and not really sure what to do and what’s causing this but my corals have not been looking as great as I feel they should. I have also had an elegance die recently. The tank is an IM nuvo fusion 40. I run their skimmer for it, refugium with chaeto. I dont run any carbon or gfo. Water clearity is great. Salt is tropic marin pro with RODI water. I do have a brown jelly looking algae on the rocks that I am working on getting rid of but no other algae. Light are 2 AI primes. I can post lighting schedule if need be. All my water params are great. The only thing I can think of is maybe my nitrates and phosphates are too low? They tested both 0 the other day with a hanna checker and salifert. Any input would great!

Lighting schedule will help.
'Great' is of little use, the full set of parameters with their units will better help with accurate solutions instead of just guesses and theories which will send you down a dozen different paths and further destabilize things. Reefing is all about the data you have. A previous set would help even more to identify changes in parameters which can be worse than simply one number being a little off.

Good luck!

Pictures?

And I get “corals were good before and now not” and I randomly adjust (WC usually) accordingly..... I don’t test, but if I found myself in a situation where I was stumped, I would test and provide results so others have the info to help you.

Sal- 1.025
temp- 77.8
pH- 7.6
mag- 1320
alk- 8.5
calc- 482
phos- 0
trate- 0
These params have been stable from week to week. I do an 8 gal water change every week as well.
I will try to post my light schedule when I get home and pics of corals. Mainly I just notice that my frogspawn, fungia and toadstool don’t seem to stay open and happy all day. Seems like they close up randomly and then might open back up. It’s really random to be honest

Can you get your nitrates and phos double checked, corals need them?
Ya I was planning on having my LFS recheck these to compare.
