Hi everyone,

so having been so so so patient now has come the time to add to my tank.

I set up a 275l tank in early dec with live rock and a sump. in early Jan I added 3 hermit crabs and then a week later another 3 and 2 cleaner shrimp. the water quality is still great and so we are looking at the next step.

we want to go for a reef setup and have put a list of fish together (we know that we cannot have all of these due to stocking levels)
but some thoughts on the selection and which ones you would go for and an order:

Magenta Dottyback or Orchid Dottyback
Pajama Cardinalfish
Clownfish
Blue Chromis
yellow Assessor
Royal Gramma
Bartlett's Anthias
Chalk Bass
Green Mandarin

we have not put any corals together as yet so are looking for some ideas

Also we are trying to decide if we should put corals in first or to mix and match the inclusion over the next few months.

we would really apreciate some advise and guidance.

many thanks

Jason

Do you have any fish in the tank currently?

I am not sure on the yellow Assessor but I know the Gramma might be aggressive.

Right off the top I would encourage to too not add the mandarin for about a year after the tank has been established. They are picky eaters and your population of pods need some time to get established. A tank your size you may be able to get away with 6 months. As far as the rest of your fish, the dottybacks can be pretty aggressive so i would add those last. Oh and in a tank your size you can easily have all those fish and more.

chalk bass are a great fish to add to any tank i would put a few chalk bass in there i think your tank is plenty big :]

thnaks for the ffedback so far, to date no fish.

Do you think i should go corals first? or a mix and match

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
