Coral or sponge

I was looking at this in a friends tank and we were unsure of what it is.

I agree, Definitely looks like sponge.

Yep. Easy way to tell for sure: spill some water and see if it wants to wipe it up! lol

Is there any concern with this. It's pretty neat looking was going to to grab some.

Noooo sponges are good !! Filter your water !! But if it's bothering your frag you can remove it .. just pull it of with pincer !

sponges are good water cleaners and ive never heard of any being a problem : )
