Hello. I just received my first order of corals from an online retailer (good rep as far as I found). It included a freebie. Plug is old from the looks of it and I'm not sure of the coral ID. I noticed some 'antenna' looking things and I just want to double check with someone. I'm going to use seachem reef dip on everything as well. Think I should pitch it or add it after acclimation and dip?

The coral is a micromussa lordhowensis. I would snap the vermetid off and dip the coral before adding to the display tank.

Great call on the vermetid snails. I pulled off the tubes (they were really soft) and put seachem reef dip right on them and did their own dip for an additional 15m

I think I'm going to be safe and keep it out of the tank. It looks rather chewy to begin with and it it has to polyps on it but I would't say they were cut very well (I see mouths but its not the full surrounding area).

I hope the other ones you got look better.
Thanks. The others looked great and 2/3 opened within an hour or two when I got them into the tank. The torch is opening but at a much slower rate. The nasty looking one was a freebie I got with my order which explains why they were giving it away...

I would try to salvage it.. acan frags can look pretty rough when you get them but they are typically very hardy.

Batch I received a few weeks ago..
