Okay so I got some test kits for kh mg and cal I got the Red Sea foundation pro. My results were kind of stunning to me because they are all pretty high. anyone have any suggestions?

Calcium-over 500. I went past 1ml of the stuff
Mag-also way over 1600 I went past the .8 on the card used the whole 1ml Kind of confusing I followed all the directions perfectly and even did the cal twice same result both times.

To get accurate levels with the Red Sea you can halve the tank test water and use RO/DI for the remaining half and then double the final values to really see what is going on. Double-check your testing methodology and READ CAREFULLY the instructions and then re-test using the halved test water. I.E. if your test calls for 5ml of tank water, use 2.5 tank water and 2.5 RO/DI. Don't forget to double the final results. If you are dosing, stop and slowly let things fall naturally. Test your mixed saltwater as well. Report back.

The last day I dosed was 2 days ago. I won’t dose probably for a week and see how far they drop.

Also I use the seachem salt.
