Hi folks,

at MACNA I picked up this cool ceramic rock centerpiece and I will transfer all my corals from live rock to this structure over the next few weeks. Since I have some corals that could be considered "invasive", and having a single structure like this, I wanted to ask for a few tips about placement.

The corals I have are as follows:

  • Zoas - about 15 different varieties
  • Super Toxic Green Palys
  • Mushrooms
  • Meteor Shower Cyphestrea
  • Monti
  • Trumpets
  • Acans
  • Frogspawn
  • Hammer
  • Hollywood stunner
  • Xenia*
  • Kenya Tree*
* My system can be considered ULNS, and these corals grow extremely slow and do not have a tendency to get out of hand.

A couple of species I am concerned with as far as placement:

  • Hollywood stunner - I was thinking about placing it on one of the outermost branches, and let it grow away from the other corals
  • Super Toxic Green Palys - I have hundreds of these and love their look, but I know they tend to be invasive. Is there a way to contain them on one of the branches? For example, can I place a "ring" of Acans, or other corals, at the base of the branch, to stop the growth of the palys?
  • Meteor Shower Cyphestrea - Same question as above.
Thanks in advance!!!
