I had suggestions to lower the light so I did and now this morning it is all closed up. All my test levels were great so im not sure what happened. I wanna add another piece but dont want to get somethjng else if km doing so

Your first piece appears to be Green Star Polyps and it may just be irritated by something. If you say all of your parameters are good, then I'll assume they're good as well. How old / how long has you tank been setup? Anything else in the tank... fish, clean up crew?

I have corals whose polyps will close up for a day or more and then open again. I'd say give it a little time and see what happens. If they still don't open I would try dipping them. What kind of test kit are you using?

Well I added a Mandarin but he sticks to the bottom and two hermit crabs maybe they are bothering it?

I wouldn't worry about it, looks as if a couple head came back out. What type of lighting were they under? And now what type of light do you have them under? If they were under halides or LED and you have the same, I'd not worry about lowering the light, they are already aclimated to that light. What kind of flow are they in?

It actually now seems like its shriveling up a bit. One of the hermit crabs does like to stroll on the rocks could he be irritating it? It was after I got him that the polyps closefd

The hermit crab might be irritating it a little. I say to just wait it out for now and see if the coral opens up again.

My green star polyp looks like that when it doesn't have enough flow. Try moving it to a place with higher flow, give it a couple days, and if it doesn't come out more, then I would dip it. I had mine on the rocks with hermits and snails that would walk all over it, and it never closed up for long.

Mine close up from time to time... The urchin can climb all over them and nothing but when the light switches from day to moons they go away for a little...
