I am trying to start a small propagation to start fragging/trading and not so much to make a bunch of money. I am trying to set it all up in my closet so it is hidden all away because the wife said "go for it" as long as it's hidden or can be closed off so I figured our spare closet would be good.
I have read many people use hydroponic trays and I'm aiming that route to keep cost down. Does any one know where I can find a tray that has a width of 20" or so and length can be max 4ft??

Please give thoughts and feedback on my diy frag tank experiment.

I also went through the thought process on this...brute vs actual tank. I decided to go with a 40 because I wanted space to grow into. with a HOB skimmer and a gyre 230. I love it.
Mostly decided on an actual tank because of my cats lol the kitten jumped into my nem tank once. batted the lid off and everything lol now I make sure everything is secured.

I am not sure what you mean by 2x 40b? You mean 40G breeder? I was not trying to go over 11" tall and not glass due to weight on the top shelf. I am trying to use as much stuff i have laying around the house. So far all i bought is the $20 brute tote which is 26"x 14" x 10.4" tall.

I understand that i could have gotten a 20g breeded but then i would of had to make a stand of some sort and buy a HOB skimmer and i only have a 24" t5 4 fixture light so i don't think it would have covered the 36" wide on a breeder. Like i said, trying to just use what i had around the house with my 10g being the sump below and the tote 14g tank which i added two bulkhead, return on the right which flows to the left where i added a false wall surface skimmer and bulkhead on the left going to the sump where i will put filtration. Just curious on every ones thoughts and will post more pics as i go along.

in regards to the light issue with the 40-I have the same except I only use 1 ai prime on my 40. I just put the low light lps corals around the perimeter :)
