Can someone help with a basic QT just for corals so I can give them a break after being shipped and before dipping. I'm looking for a basic setup to employ when I get a few and break down when done. I only plan on keeping them in there maybe 3-5 days. Thanks for the help..

Steps (please correct me)

1) Water change in target tank and use that water for QT
2) Heater, pump (do I need a filter or bubbler/airstone will do since there are no fish in the QT
3) Test daily and perform water change as needed
4) How about a light?
5) I was hoping to only do this for a few days and then dip.
6) Egg crate to keep corals upright and away from each other

Any help is appreciated, thank you..

2) Heater, pump (do I need a filter or bubbler/airstone will do since there are no fish in the QT/ A smaller power head should be enough. I am assuming this is going to be a smaller tank. Yup you'll need a heater. An Ato wold be of benefit as well.
3) Test daily and perform water change as needed/ For a quarantine of 3-5 days you should not need a water change. You'll get away with testing SG only. As long as the QT is cycled you should not have to test, and utilization of trace elements are not likely to be substantial. Match QT to display for Ca/Alk levels.
4) How about a light?/ Most any T5 or higher output LED, such as Kessil, AI Prime... will work.
5) I was hoping to only do this for a few days and then dip.
6) Egg crate to keep corals upright and away from each other

It's ok to use the water from your main display so long as the water isn't depleted of the trace elements or more importantly the major elements. For lighting if it's truly for such a short time you could get away with something marginal in power, but if you need the corals in there for any longer then a week I would suggest something like the kessil 160 or ai prime. For filtration nothing too major a hang on the back with some biological from the main display should be fine or just live rock moved over. I would suggest a power head in there as well to keep circulation up.

As above post suggests a powered. Why test the water every day though? Test for What? What do you expect to change?

Since I've never done this for such a short duration, I was not sure and thought best to ask. I was guessing I should be fine in regards to short term regarding water parameters. But again, first time and don't want to lose anything.
