So spent today setting up the coral quarantine tank - got a “cheap” radion which I thought would be good for it

Got a couple of nice acros and a large Monti plus a bunch of large troches snails and a couple of strombus snails

I wanted to get some opinions or suggestions on a couple things....

Firstly on how to keep these snails alive for a few weeks as I don’t plan on feeding the tank - there are a few established pieces of live rock but not much else in the way of food other than potential algae build up

With my radions this is my first time using them - does anyone have a suggestion on a schedule for SPS - currently running

Ramp up from 0 to 73% 9am - 11am
73% intensity from 11-6
Ramp down from 73% from 6pm - 10pm
thoughts on this?

Anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions from their own experiences with coral / invert QT tanks or improvements I can make that would be awesome!!

Equipment:
Radion gen3
Small coral box ATO
Bio pro HOB filter
Heater
Small 600lphr flow pump
Live rock from the display

Here are some pics

I think the quarantine tank should be as good as the main tank since sps is sensitive. Your quarantine tank is not new right? In my experience, tank should be at least 1 year old for sps. I started putting sps when it became 6 months. Some of sps did not make it. A friend of mine purchased angry birds acro. It came in good condition and he put it into the main tank. It died next day. So if I were you, after qurantine, I will put it to main .

Sweet setup! Nice acro colonies!

Thanks man - yeah they look sweet let’s hope they can survive in here as they will look great in the display!

Update on the coral QT tank. Almost 2 weeks in and everything looking great at the moment, good polyp extension on the acros and nice colour on the monti. 50% water change done 2 days ago.

CUC looking happy enough too - just hopefully enough food to keep them alive for a few more weeks. Algae has been growing well..

@Aussiemarine, Howard your corals doing. Are they out of QT yet?

I am trying a similar QT for corals but my corals are not happy. So far 2 of my 3 Acros look dead and the LPS are not happy.
And now..

hey! Yep they are in the display now. I have quarantined about 15 or so corals so far none have perished in the QT tank thus far fingers crossed it stays that way!

you can see these ones on the large bommie

Looks nice...do you test your water during QT?

I do an initial ‘alk depreciation test’ so I can top up alk daily as the alk swings seem to be the main issue. Other than that no
