After recently reading about how Brook got into someones tank after QTing all their fish with Pazi and copper.

I had a total tank wipeout due to velvet and my better half will not tollerate any more losses like that with my new build so we are going to QT all fish. I have a JBJ 24 gallon Nanocube that I will be using for the fish.

Would it be wise to set up a small coral qt as well? I have a Fulval Spec V that would fit nicely in my stand that could be used as a coral QT. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to isolate my corals for 6 weeks to prevent disease? I am imagining it would be very low maintenance considering there is essentially no bioload. Just top it off and observe the corals right?

Way too much work setting up my DT to take a chance with a parasite/hitchhiker wiping out my DT. I have a 10 gallon QT for corals running 24/7. And another for inverts. And of course another one for fish when needed.

It's pretty easy to keep startup materials for a QT in the sump, soaking 24/7: foam block for HOB, Fluval BioMax in mesh bag, foam for bubble filter. Taking cycled water out of the DT, add the soaking materials ^^^ and there you go. Instant QT.

Is there a reason I should QT my general inverts separate from corals?

Had a coral QT running with a large number of corals and needed some more CUC. So I added about 100 cerith snails into the QT. Had a huge die off of the snails. The whole tank went crazy out of balance from the dead snails. Lesson learned. Now they get their own QTs :D

Lol for sure. I don't think I'll be adding too much at a time. I'll just use the 5 gallon for all inverts then.

Can the coral QT be stored under my tank in the stand or does it need to be 10 feet away?

Keep it away feom your main tank. Having it that close makes anything that can get airborn easily transfer over.
What exactly can get airborne? I'm trying to eliminate ich, velvet, brook and worms.
