We had a hitchhiker Zoa come with a live rock and we are just curious if anyone can tell us what kind of Zoa it is?

Also we have a coral we would like to know what it is called if anyone knows.....and also a question about feeding. We see a sweeper coming from this coral, and we were just curious if that is how the coral eats...and how exactly to feed corals and zoas?

First one looks like an eagle eye zoa & the second some species of chalice..very cool hitchikers

I don't feed my zoas directly, they pick up cyclopeeze, when I broadcast feed....the chalice(if that's what it is), I'm not sure, I don't have much experience with them...maybe someone else can chime in

Definitely a chalice. Chalice do not need to be fed although they do benefit from feedings of mysis or some people use LPS fauna marin pellets. I am honestly too lazy to since my kittle crabs usually pick them out but if you want to you can. Most people do twice a week. You will get much faster growth rates then!

That's awesome! Love that piece....and been wanting a chalice, so good to know!:) I will look into feeding it....faster growth sounds good, since this hobby needs patience anyway! Haha. Thanks for your input Mr. E Wrasse!:)

What type of corals are you asking about? Certain types IME you don't even have to "feed" just provide proper lighting for the zooxanthellae to do their job.......

Thank you guys so much. It is beautiful for sure, now we have a baby so that makes 3 of them... Yay!!!
