Hello all,

I have a Biocube that I've had setup for quite some time and I've never had any fish in it. So, I finally added a few fish in it, but it doesn't have a protein skimmer. Can I put live rock, corals into the tank or is it just a disaster waiting to happen?

Thanks for your help in advance. :)

You can add corals and rock without a skimmer. Check water parameters/chemistry and do routine water changes and you'll be fine. I would not go whole hog and get a bunch of sensitive sps, but you can keep a lot of hardy LPS no problem.

+1 a friend has a 29 gallon nano. With no skimmer. He just has to keep up with water changes.

Ya you dont have to have a skimmer they just help alot.Did you not have any liverock in it to begin with?If not and you decide to add rock make sure you use dry rock if you already have livestock in the tank because if u add liverock your tank will probally go through a cycle and that will harm your livestock
